Encoding.com, , a SaaS video encoding platform is rolling out a new functionality today, called Mobile Made Easy. The new feature includes one-step video encoding presets to meet the specific video requirements for all popular mobile phones.

So Encoding.com’s 1000 business customers can prepare their videos for a range of mobile devices and platforms including the iPhone/iPad, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and popular Samsung and Nokia phones. Customers select the given preset button for the destination of the video, and Encoding.com will transcode the video for delivery to the content producer’s CDN.

This is a win for customers because Encoding has pretty much done all the heavy lifting in the encoding process, taking into account the specific requirements for each of the mobile operating systems and device specifications, including the supported video and audio formats, screen sizes, and recommended bitrates.

Earlier this year, Encoding raised $1.25 million in Series A funding, led by Metamorphic Ventures and included angel investors Patrick Condon, Fred Hamilton, Zelkova Ventures, Dave Morgan, and Allen Morgan. The company also added HTTP live streaming to enable streaming of videos on the iPad and iPhone.
